Privacy Policy
What this website collects when you request an estimate, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted.
Who operates this site
This website is published by AIXIS LLC, a Vermont limited liability company. AIXIS LLC publishes winter-operations information for property owners and managers in the Champlain Valley and passes service requests to independent snow and ice contractors. AIXIS LLC does not plow snow, spread material, haul snow, or perform any other winter service itself, and it does not employ or supervise the contractors who do.
What this site collects
Two things, and nothing else.
1. What you type into the request form
If you submit the estimate request form, the following is stored: the name, email address and optional phone number you enter; the property address and town; the property type and services you select; the free-text description of the property; and the date and time of the submission. You choose every one of those values. There is no field on this form that collects anything you have not typed or selected.
2. A one-way fingerprint used only to stop abuse
When the form is submitted, the site computes a salted, one-way hash of your network address and stores that hash — not the address itself — so a single sender cannot flood the form. The hash cannot be reversed to recover the original address, the salt is not published, and the hash is never used to identify you, to build a profile, or for any purpose other than rate limiting. These rows are deleted on a rolling basis and are not retained beyond the abuse-prevention window.
What this site does not collect
- No advertising or analytics trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no remarketing tag, and no third-party script of any kind. Every script and stylesheet the site loads is served from this domain.
- No cookies for tracking. The site sets no cookie that identifies you across visits. Where a page remembers a setting, it uses your browser's own local storage on your device, which is never transmitted anywhere.
- No purchase of contact data, and no enrichment of what you submit against any outside database.
- No sale of personal information, ever, under any definition of sale or share used by state privacy statutes.
Who else processes it
Three service providers touch a submission, each for one purpose:
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this site, serves every page, and stores submissions in its database service. Cloudflare also provides the bot check that appears on the form. Cloudflare processes this data on AIXIS LLC's instructions under its own data-processing terms.
- Cloudflare's email service forwards a copy of your request to the AIXIS LLC inbox so a person can read it.
- An independent contractor receives the details of your request when your request is passed on, so they can evaluate the property and respond to you. That contractor is a separate business and handles your information under its own practices, not this policy.
No other party receives your information. AIXIS LLC does not share, rent, sell, or trade it with data brokers, marketing lists, or lead aggregators.
The bot check
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which decides whether a submission is likely automated. Turnstile is a privacy-preserving alternative to a traditional CAPTCHA: it does not track you across websites and does not present puzzles that profile your behaviour for advertising. It receives technical signals about the browser session in order to score it.
How long it is kept
- Request-form submissions: retained while the request is active and for up to 24 months afterwards, so a seasonal enquiry can be matched to a follow-up in a later winter. You can ask for earlier deletion.
- Abuse-prevention hashes: a rolling window measured in hours, then deleted.
- Server logs held by Cloudflare follow Cloudflare's own retention schedule and are not used by AIXIS LLC for anything other than diagnosing a fault.
Your choices
You can ask AIXIS LLC to tell you what it holds about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it — regardless of which state you live in. Send the request through the request form and say plainly what you want done. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy statutes (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others) have these rights by law; AIXIS LLC extends the same handling to everyone rather than sorting requests by residence. There is no fee, and asking will not affect any service you receive. If a request is refused, you will be told why.
Because AIXIS LLC does not sell or share personal information and does not run targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of on those grounds, and Global Privacy Control signals therefore have nothing to act on here.
Children
This site is intended for property owners, tenants and managers, and is not directed to children. AIXIS LLC does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted the form, use the request form and the record will be deleted.
Security, stated honestly
Submissions travel over HTTPS, the database is not publicly reachable, and access is limited to the people who handle requests. No system is immune to compromise, and this policy does not promise that one is. What it does commit to: AIXIS LLC collects the smallest set of fields that lets a contractor evaluate a property, stores no payment details of any kind, and does not retain what it no longer needs.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes and the revised policy is posted here before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that date means the revised policy applies. Nothing on this site collects information retroactively under a policy you never saw.
